What is the purpose of the Christian Creative Arts (CCA) Awards?

The CCA Awards honor excellence in Christian creativity by recognizing artists and their journey from concept to final output, celebrating works that reflect and support Christian values.

Who is eligible to submit works for the CCA Awards?

Christian artists and creatives, both Canadian and international, may submit their work, provided it meets the eligibility requirements. 

What types of creative works are accepted for submission?

Accepted submissions include music, podcasts, fine art, dance, writing, movies, and other creative expressions that align with Christian values.

What is the submission period for the 2025 CCA Awards?

Submissions open on January 15, 2025, and close on March 31, 2025.

Is there a membership requirement to submit works?

Yes, artists must be GMIHub members in good standing to submit. GMIHub membership is free, and interested participants can join by following the provided link.

What are the eligibility requirements for submitted works?

  • Content must reflect Christian values (e.g., faith, hope, love, scripture).
  • The work must have been publicly released between November 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024.
  • Works for international categories must be available for distribution in the creator’s country or globally.

 

Are there specific geographical requirements?

Yes, while international works are accepted, other categories require Canadian status in at least two areas, such as artist nationality, ownership of work, or production location.

What award categories are available?

Categories include various music genres, a songwriter category, short-form music video, an international category, and special excellence awards in areas like artist management, marketing, and lifetime achievement.

How can submissions be made?

Each submission requires detailed information about the artist, work description, and how it aligns with Christian values.  For song categories, song submissions can be in either an MP3 or WAV file for songs.  Short-form videos and podcasts require a link.

Can I submit more than one work?

Yes, artists may submit multiple works, though each song or video is considered a separate submission.

Can a single work be submitted to multiple categories?

Yes, a work may be submitted in multiple categories; however, each category entry will be treated as a separate submission.

Is there a cost per submission?

Yes.  A CA$25.97 charge will be applied to each submission (i.e. one work per one category).

How will submissions be judged?

Submissions are reviewed by a panel of experienced CCA and industry professionals based on genre expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.

Can I apply to be a judge?

GMIHub members in good standing who are Canadian citizens may apply to judge, provided they have no submissions or connections to submissions in the categories they judge. Interested members can email CCA@gmihub.ca for more information.

How are the Excellence Awards different from other categories?

Excellence Awards recognize contributions in areas like artist management, faith-driven artists in mainstream industries, exceptional marketing, and lifetime achievements in the Christian creative community.

Where can I find the full submission guidelines and become a GMIHub member?

Full guidelines and membership registration are available via the GMIHub website. Becoming a member is free and required for submission eligibility.
