The Christian Creative Arts (CCA) Awards honours creatives and the journey of their creative works from inception through to final output or performance. The CCA Awards celebrate excellence and artistry and individuals and submissions should intentionally reflect, communicate, and/or support Christian values.
Christian Artists/Creatives are invited to submit their Creative Work (e.g. music, podcast, fine art, dance, writing, movie or any other artistic or creative expression) for consideration. Submissions are open to Canadian & International participants.
CCA submissions must meet all eligibility and submission requirements as specified below, and may be submitted by any GMIHub member in good standing. Membership in GMIHub is free. Click on the link below to become a member.
Submissions will open on January 15, 2025, and close on March 31, 2025.
Definitions
Christian Creatives (hereafter ‘creatives” or “artists”), are defined as artists who aim to live their lives in alignment with Christian values.
Christian Creative Works (hereafter “works”) are defined as music, podcasts, any fine art, dance, writings, movies or any other artistic or creative expression that reflect Christian values.
Release: A release constitutes the making available of one’s music (or related work) through any public platform (e.g. radio airplay, streaming, download, or physical copies).
Eligibility Requirements
Content: Submissions must reflect Christian values (e.g. faith, hope, love, scripture)
Qualifying Period: Work submitted for consideration must have been released during the period November 1, 2023 – December 31, 2024.
Submission Period: Work must be submitted within the submission period January 15 – March 31, 2025.
Geographical Restrictions: For the International award the works must be rightfully owned and available for distribution within the participant’s own country or worldwide via physical or digital distribution, websites, etc. International artists may submit ONLY to the International award category.
All other award categories, require the participants to have Canadian status in at least two of the following areas:
- Artist - Canadian born; a Canadian citizen/Permanent Resident
- Works - Rightfully owned by a Canadian artist
- Production - Works were created by and/or produced by a Canadian artist/producer
Membership: Artists/creatives must be a member of GMIHub in good standing to be eligible to submit. Click on the link above to become a member.
Award Categories
The award categories open for submission are:
- Christian Rock (Classic, Heavy Metal, Punk)
- CCM/Pop
- Country/Southern Gospel
- Urban (Hip Hop, Rap, Reggae, R&B)
- Folk
- Inspirational/Intrumental
- Praise & Worship
- Kids Music
- Christmas
- Songwriter
- Short Form Music Video (original music or original arrangement of a cover)
- International
Artists/creatives may submit more than one song/video, however each song will be considered a separate submission. International artists may submit ONLY to the International category.
Submissions
The following will be required for each submission:
- Full name, contact informaiton, category being entered
- A brief bio of the artist(s)/creative(s) and description of the work
- A statement explaining how their submission aligns with Christian values
Submission Format
A link to the song or video must be provided for all submissions (e.g. link to website, streaming platform, YouTube). The link must allow the song/video being submitted to be accessed by the CCA panel.
Excellence Awards
Excellence Awards will be presented in the following special categories:
- Artist Managers/Booking Agents/Coaches/Promoters
- Artists in the Marketplace – Honoring Christian artists who maintain strong faith while working in the mainstream music industry.
- Marketing/Branding/Social Media – Highlighting exceptional marketing efforts by artists promoting their own work
- Lifetime Excellence Award – Recognizing individuals who have been influential in advancing the gospel/Christian music scene.
Judging
Awards will be decided by a CCA panel and industry professionals. Judges will be selected for applicable categories based on their overall experience, understanding of the genre they are judging, and absence of conflict of interest.
Applications to serve as judges are welcome from any GMIHub member in good standing, who are Canadian citizens, and who have no submissions, or direct connections to submissions, in the category they are judging. To maintain the integrity of the process, judges must commit to confidentiality, and to reviewing each submission with integrity and equal attention. For information or to apply email CCA@gmihub.ca
